Creativebug has a monthly series called the Daily Challenge where an artist walks you through prompts and ideas for drawing or painting for 30 days. Some of my favorites include 31 Things to Draw with Lisa Congdon, 30 Things to Paint with August Wren and 31 Creative Lettering Ideas with Pam Garrison.

Creativebug also has an upcoming class in January with one of my favorite artists, Carolyn Gavin.

Have you always wanted to paint with acrylics but don’t know where to start? Check out the Acrylic Painting for Beginners Class with Lisa Solomon.

Let your creativity free with this fun and colorful Creative Sketchbooking class with Pam Garrison. There are four parts to the class. One focuses on pens and paint, another let’s you try responsive drawing, while a third plays with collage. The fourth takes your favorite works out of the sketchbook and onto a canvas.

Watercolor is such a fun medium, and Yao Cheng makes it look easy in her Beginning Watercolors class. She has an amazing loose and free style that is lovely to watch and fun to learn.

Have you always wanted to try calligraphy? Check out the Calligraphy classes by Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls. She’ll teach you how to work with dip pens and ink and create lovely lettering and details in her five-part class.

Jen Hewitt is an amazing fabric designer and seamstress. Check out her Screenprinting & Sewing Creativebug class where you can learn to screen print your own fabric and then sew a useful clutch bag.

If you aren’t too confident with your drawing skills but like to relax with colored pencils or watercolor paints, check out the coloring book courses with Courtney Cerruti. You’ll get 30 fun pages to color and she shares tips for her favorite creative ways to add your own flair to a coloring book page.

Lisa Congdon is an amazing artist who creates colorful pieces. Play along with her with the Creative Bootcamp classes. She’ll show you how to combine color and simple shapes to create patterns and spark your artistic creativity.

An easy and fun class that can be adapted for the whole family, Dawn DeVries-Sokol teaches a cool art journaling class focused on the holidays but you can take it any time. Get creative and messy in your sketchbook or journal doodling, lettering and adding paint and collage.

A class that will inspire novice painters and experienced artists alike is the intuitive painting class by Flora Bowley. Flora walks you through gathering inspiration, getting in the right creative mindset and having fun during the process of letting your artwork come alive on the canvas.
